Facebook, the popular social network created by Mark Zuckerberg, has set up a unique initiative dedicated to American users. This initiative is designed to evaluate the impact of social networks on the political choices of users. The issue is kept under strict control, especially in view of the increasingly imminent US elections.
The company expects an attendance of between 200,000 and 400,000 users. The company’s purpose, however, is to understand through a study how social media can affect the electorate. Facebook expects to be able to publicly release the results of this study no earlier than next year. However, the research will be conducted by independent data scientists, therefore external to the company.
In short, Mark Zuckerberg aims to raise the level of attention in the field of political elections, especially after what happened in the previous political elections which saw the victory of Donald Trump. We also remind you that Facebook has already raised the level restrictions by banning all advertisements related to the elections starting from the previous week.
