The latest rumors about the new and highly anticipated PlayStation 5 tell us that Sony has accelerated production, but this does not mean that the initial availability will be able to meet the demand, at least in the first few weeks.

Those who intend to pre-order the console directly from the official Sony store may find themselves faced with a limit in the purchase: according to the source code of the Sony site, they could limit the pre-order of PlayStation 5 to one console per account.

The code, in fact, already includes the error message that will appear to those who try to pre-order more than one console:

You can only purchase one version of the PS5™ Console: Disc or Digital. You have already added one PS5™ console to your cart.

Something similar has already happened with the pre-orders of PlayStation 4 in 2013 and the limit was linked only to the official Sony store. Third-party resellers such as Amazon, GameStop may have no limit on the purchase or pre-order.

Since limited stocks are shaping up, however, the suggestion we give you, in case you want to take the new console home at launch, is to pre-order it as soon as possible, so as to reduce the risk of staying at the limit.
