Starting with last week’s Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event, Shiny variants of Kanto’s original 151 Pokémon can finally be found in the game. Some of the most recent additions include Shiny Mew and Shiny Ditto, however, many players are simply taking advantage of Kanto’s features to hook up some older Shinys, such as Jynx Shiny.

Pokemon GO is known for presenting Pokemon Shiny to its AR world through a slow release. While most of the existing species have made their way into the game, Pokemon GO still lacked bright Form of Generation 1 Pokémon until the recent GO Tour: Kanto event.

Originally, Jynx Shiny could not be obtained from Pokémon GO until the 2019 Valentine’s Day event. After this event, players were able to incubate Shiny Smoochum from Eggs, which could then evolve to Jynx Shiny. However, like Shiny Electabuzz and Shiny Magmar, Jynx Shiny was not available in the wild until much later. Starting with the Pokémon GO Holiday 2020 event, players can now find Jynx Shiny in the wild, as well as incubate Shiny Smoochum from Eggs.

While Jynx is usually a little hard to find in the wild, players can take advantage of elements like Glacial Lures (which increase the rate of appearance of ice-type Pokémon) to increase their chances of finding a Jynx Shiny.

As mentioned above, Pokémon trainers are currently also taking advantage of recent Kanto-themed events to find Jynx. Jynx appeared during the Pokémon League theme in the days of Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto.

In addition to using Glacial Lures and watching Jynx in the windy or snowy weather, players can also take advantage of the current Kanto celebration event. This event, intended to continue celebrating the Kanto region after the end of the GO Tour, gives all players the opportunity to meet and catch a Jynx.

Although it’s just a unique encounter, it’s a research reward, ensuring that the Jynx will have at least generally above-average statistics. A guaranteed encounter with a strong Jynx should be welcomed by anyone waiting for a Shiny version of the Ice type.

The above-mentioned match is unlocked during the fourth of the four stages of the Kanto Timed Investigation celebration event. Pokémon trainers will simply need to send 3 gifts to any of their friends to complete the Research Task in question, which will then reward the player with a (potentially brilliant) encounter with Jynx.

And while Pokémon’s 25th anniversary will continue throughout the year, as noted, this is Timed Research. Therefore, those hoping to hook this additional Jynx should act in a hurry, as the investigation will disappear after kanto’s celebration ends on February 28, 2021.
