Due to the multiple leaks that have been arriving for months, there remains very little information that we don’t know about the Galaxy Unpacked event that Samsung will celebrate on August 5. One of the expected is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G, which now comes confirmed in a video.
It will be the variant with support for the new 5G broadband network and although it will follow the concept of the first generation it will offer some new features. Everything indicates that it will be slightly larger, it will keep the compact size and the “shell” design with which Samsung wanted to go back to the origins to boost its new generation of folding.
Considering 5G support, the biggest changes will come from within. While the first model has a Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, the Z Flip could include the latest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 865 Plus presented last week and which will become the most powerful mobile chipset that can be mounted on smartphones for the last months remained of the year.
Its screen will be a flexible OLED with support for HDR10 + protected by an “ultra-thin glass”, compared to typical polycarbonate, which should considerably strengthen the panel, so that it will improve in resistance and robustness. This cover is believed to be used in the Fold 2 as well, another device that will be presented at the August event.
We don’t believe that there are any significant changes to the camera system, while the presence of a small notification screen and the independent hinge that makes it so unique, similar to models like the Moto Razr, and that allows perfect handling both folded and unfolded.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G will be available in three colors (gold, black and purple), as we see in the video. There are no details of the price, but considering that the previous model cost $ 1,500, we will probably have to pay a little more to get this model with 5G.
