At Microsoft’s Series X event, the company released a new trailer for STALKER 2. This will be the first time the first-person shooter’s franchise has appeared on consoles.
Until now, everything that was available about the game was a poor screenshot – but now we have a better idea of the game, which also comes to PC in 2021. The game will come to Xbox Game Pass on PC and Xbox Series X. On the website of the official release of the game, there are currently no announced plans to bring the game to the PS5.
A new movie trailer provided an overview of the scary environments, from an abandoned playground to an abandoned underground train. Anomalies were also shown, destroying cars and the nature around them.
In an ad on the Xbox blog, the studio explained how you play as a STALKER – a bounty hunter who dives into the contaminated area in search of treasure and secrets. The monsters and factions inside the “Zone” (as it is called) will interact with each other in a gloomy world, and the studio claims that the events will take place constantly, whether you are there or not to witness them.
It also promises a branching story with lots of different endings, based on your choices and that the open-world map will be one of the biggest to date. The story will be told in a non-linear manner, which could provide a more detailed perspective on how the game will approach the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
The STALKER series revolves around the area surrounding the Chernobyl disaster, full of mutated creatures, opposing factions, and strange anomalies. The first game debuted in 2007, but the series remained inactive since 2009.
