Google has already begun beta testing of its future Android 11 operating system. All devices that will be launched in the future with the Android 11 must have more than 2 GB of RAM. Smartphones with 2 GB of RAM or less will need to use Android Go. Also, smartphones with less than 512 MB of RAM will no longer qualify for GMS (Google Mobile Services) preload - which means they have reached the end of support. The above changes are coming in the fourth quarter of 2020 when the operating system will start running and updates will start coming from OEMs. Smartphones that have already been released on previous versions of Android with 2 GB of RAM have been exempted from the requirement. If they receive regular updates, they will stay on the full Android version to avoid any confusion. Android Go is usually intended to be a literary version of Google's open-source operating system, and a lot of native apps have a smaller brand with smaller features - keeping the basic functionality the same. The change is aimed at smartphones with optimal software that runs smoothly in the light version, instead of slowing down to operate the full operating system experience, according to an XDA report.
